Born and raised in the Southeast of England, I moved to Vancouver in March 2010 and spent nine years enjoying everything that the city and beautiful BC coast had to offer. During my time living there I became friends with a neighbour who introduced me to the Boundary Country and Grand Forks in particular. After several visits I decided that another lifestyle change was in order, so I sold up in Vancouver to relocate and move here.
Now that I am well established in Grand Forks, I can state 100% that I absolutely love small town and rural living and couldn’t imagine moving back to a large city. There is a great sense of community here, with neighbours becoming your friends and where grocery shopping trips and visits to the post office/bank/gym/shops take longer and longer as you get to know more people and stop and chat!
Prior to my career in real estate, I spent 10 very busy and fulfilling years as a music college teacher in England. I specialized in guitar, music theory and music composition, and when I wasn’t busy teaching, I could be found playing live and very loud on stages up and down England. Once I moved to Canada, I used my teaching background to get a job as a corporate trainer in a huge multinational company and was rapidly promoted into management and into higher up positions in the corporate world. I feel that these earlier careers really helped when moving into real estate. Being used to performing, promoting courses and bands to the general public and working with creative people really developed the personal skills and outgoing nature essential in working with my clients, and the discipline, organization and just general hard grind required in the corporate world helps me keep on top of the admin and planning side of this job. Real estate certainly isn’t a job for everyone, but I love it.
I take pride in working hard for my clients and ensuring I am responsive and efficient when dealing with inquiries and leads. As well as promoting and advertising listings I am also able to create virtual tours, 3D house models and floor layouts, ensuring your property gets the listing it deserves!

We bought our home with James as our buying realtor and I'm so glad we did! He was very thorough when discussing potential properties, he was responsive when we had questions and would always keep us updated as soon as he knew something. His professional and charming demeanor made looking for our home a lot of fun. You will be in good hands working with James Tyler!

We found James Tyler to be a professional, experienced, hardworking, and honest realtor. James had good knowledge of the Boundary area, was responsive and kept in constant communication, working hard to follow up on our requests and questions. We felt like we were James’ prime client but knew the market was extremely busy, so we were impressed with his ability to have and obtain flexibility to accommodate viewings. When we found our piece of paradise, James was miraculously able to pull all the legalities together which had an extremely short timeline! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend James Tyler who you’ll find has an engaging personality and is genuinely looking after your best interest.

We would absolutely recommend James! He was honest & forthright. He actually listened to what we were looking for in a home and stuck to our price range. He was very efficient with his and our time and always responded in a timely manner. Thanks again James.

James is the best realtor we have ever used, and we have bought and sold many homes. He went above and beyond what we have expected of realtors. This was important as we lived 5 hours away from our new home and making sure things were happening as planed would be very difficult for us. James did an excellent job finding information and tiding up the lose ends. My wife and I would highly recommend James.
